Betty's Burgers is a popular Australian burger chain known for its fresh, high-quality ingredients and a relaxed, beach-inspired atmosphere. Originating on the Sunshine Coast, the brand has expanded across Australia, offering a menu that includes gourmet burgers, crispy fries, and signature desserts like the "Concrete" frozen custard. Betty's Burgers is celebrated for its casual dining experience, friendly service, and commitment to creating delicious, classic burgers with a modern twist.
Develop an internal video for a shareholder meeting that will serve as a heartfelt surprise for the founders of Betty's Burgers. This clip will celebrate their journey and remarkable achievements, highlighting the brand's evolution and success. The video aims to inspire and prepare them to embrace the exciting new chapter ahead.
The Brief
I collaborated with Retail Zoo to create a surprise animation for Betty's Burgers in Australia. Initially, they had a rough concept, but they faced significant challenges, including a tight deadline, a limited budget, and a need for clearer direction.
To address these challenges, I reworked the script, refining it from an almost 10-minute runtime to a concise and impactful 90-second clip. For the visual direction, I chose a simple yet engaging design that prominently featured Betty's Burgers' brand colors as accents on characters and environments, evolving as the story progressed.
The final animation was a dynamic and playful piece, using seamless transitions to illustrate the passage of time and montages that highlighted the hard work behind establishing Betty's Burgers. The clip served a dual purpose, functioning both as a promotional tool and a presentation piece for shareholders.
